Santa Zukker Game

Santa Zukker’s colorful and contrasting works play with the common area between abstractionism and figuration. The exhibition conveys the inner life of the artist and the creative process, which convey the emotions typical of a good game – gambling and pleasure, but also rituals. Zukker began her creative journey with mystical landscape paintings, but has moved more towards abstraction in recent years, continuing to experiment with strange symbiosis of forms and colors. For a young artist, it is important to constantly move, to think beyond the boundaries and to deal with new topics, because without a driving dynamic, the motivation to act would also disappear. Colors and forms, realism and magic compete with each other,, sometimes forcefully, but mostly in an easy and friendly way.

Santa Zukker (b. 1991) has a BA degree in cultural studies from Tallinn University and is currently studying on MA level at the Estonian Academy of Arts, in the field of museology. Her research topics are related to the behaviour of children and young people in art and culture. Her painting style focuses mainly on mystical realistic subject matter. The scope of the artist ranges from realistic and classic landscape paintings to abstract works that play with colors, style and materials. Santa’s paintings have been exhibited in various galleries such as Haus, Kunstiruum, Staapli3 gallery, Teacher’s House, Metropoli Gallery, Stockmann Gallery, Pärnu New Art Museum, Eduard Vilde Museum / Castle House, Kadrioru Gallery, Office of the Chancellor of Justice, and others.
