STL in cooperation with the Goethe Institute presents two German choreographers work in one night from the Saksa Kevad program
SCHWANENSEE IN SNEAKERS
The solo performance “SCHWANENSEE IN SNEAKERS” opens the view for the multifaceted forms of dance and the power of transformation inherent in every body. In this sense, the piece sees itself as a fun and creative transfer of knowledge for young people, passing on different perspectives on dance and movement. What is dance? What can dance be? Which bodies dance? Dancer Anna Till moves in a crossover of styles that shift from the mundane to the grotesque, from the classical to the experimental. Historical movement material meets contemporary form.
Is waiting for the bus actually also dance?

WHERE THE BOYS ARE
A game. A dance. A fight. A relationship. A performance.
‘Where the Boys Are’ is a playful exploration of where dance meets martial arts. Examining and reconstructing the vocabulary of different fighting practices, the two performers transform the arena into a zone of performance which is sensitive and intimate. Two opposing forces arrive to a match, each wishes to conquer the other, but eventually through continuous rituals of collision their bodies soften. This new vulnerability invites one to discover the other and introduces new ways of touching – with care and support, which often do not exist in relationships between men.
