Nele Sooväli Colombian birds

“Colombian Birds” is a series of paintings and drawings completed in 2023 that illustrates the artist’s one and a half month long trip in Colombia – the country with the largest number of bird species. The love for colours, light, geometry, lush nature and especially birds are particularly brightly present in these works. As the birds on the works curiously explore their surroundings, the artist also processes personal emotions through them, especially the themes of freedom, expectations and letting go.

Nele Sooväli (b. 1984) is a visual artist and stage designer. She has studied fine arts in University of Salamanca, Spain, scenography in Estonian Academy of Arts (BA) and art teaching in Tallinn University (MA). The paintings and drawings in the exhibition are for sale.
