Flesh, a ton of lube, slippery surfaces, joy and fantasies.
In “Fluids” W A U H A U S members create a space in which virtuosity, succeeding and perfection is made impossible. In a slippery state of impossibleness the bodies onstage encounter a physicality which is based on constant failure and re-trying. The directors of the piece Anni Klein and Jarkko Partanen are interested in empathy, intimacy and failure in times when in society prevails individualism, perfectionism and mistrust.
Performance is a first time collaboration, including Estonian dancers Joanna Kalm, Karolin Poska, Sigrid Savi, Joonas Tagel and Finnish-Swedish actress Salla Loper.
W A U H A U S is a Helsinki-based arts collective, active in today’s performance field. The works of W A U H A U S take on many different forms, but are often centred around materiality, the body of the audience member, empathy and strong audiovisual concepts.
