Vira Olevska Layers of Life

Layers of Life by Ukrainian artist Vira Olevska is a personal and emotional journey into beautiful and painful experiences and memories. Olevska has lived in Kyiv, Odessa, Dahab and Bali. Each environment has influenced her artistic perspective with important elements of culture and nature. The artist’s freediving background adds the level of calm beauty and raw intensity of the underwater world. Olevska’s works are closely connected to the war in Ukraine, depicting the harsh reality of conflict, grief and recovery, but also raw and honest human resilience and hope for a better future. War and pain are interwoven with moments of joy, love and the simple beauty of everyday life, allowing the viewer to flow through the colourful spectrum of emotions. Olevska’s works celebrate the strength, warmth and empathy of people. Layers of Life is an invitation to reflect and find beauty even in the midst of life’s complexity.
