The aim of the festival is to raise awareness and recognize the especialness of Estonian Sign Language and other Sign Language communities. This event is for people who know Estonian Sign Language and for those who do not.
The aim of the festival is to make people notice differences around them and bring people closer together. We wish to raise awareness and recognize the especialness of Estonian Sign Language (one of the official languages in Estonia) and other Sign Language communities. This event is for people who know Estonian Sign Language and for those who do not.
We want to start a tradition of organizing this festival in every two years to unite communities in Estonia.
Vaata!Festival takes place on September 21, 2019 at Telliskivi Creative City. Attendees can learn and ask questions about Estonian and Russian Sign Language and experience their culture, traditions and history in a free environment. There is no need to worry about the language barrier because there will be Sign Language interpreters. Vaata!Festival also includes Russian Sign Language.
