We welcome you to the opening of Pixy Liao’s new exhibition “Your gaze belongs to me”, which critiques stereotypical gender roles in contemporary society through a peculiar humorous prism. The tour will be hosted by the artist herself!

Growing up in conservative China, Pixy never felt like she fitted into the traditional role of a woman, whose main role was to look after her family and home. Liao’s project began when her Japanese lover Moro became her muse and the artist’s photographs began to portray the classically unusual dynamic between man and woman. Liao’s work certainly does not leave the viewer neutral and evokes emotions depending on the viewer, be it confusion, joy, amusement, disgust, surprise or a sense of belonging. With her work, the artist not only breaks gender roles, but also makes us think about other practices that we traditionally consider normal in romantic relationships.

PS! In addition to Pixy Liao’s exhibition, we will also open an unique exhibition by Carla Gannis, a multidisciplinary artist from the United States, that visitors will be able to see for the first time!
