Sanna Larmola “Naiads – water nymphs”
Exhibition “Naiads – Water Nymphs” at the Three Trees Gallery.
My goal was to capture the oldest of the Four Elements of nature with a camera, as if capturing a dancer and her movements in a still frame. The result was a series of photographs in which the captured moments are not noticeable to the naked eye.
I started this photo series in Spain, noticing the amazing play of light on public fountains, and continued when I was back home, consciously trying to capture the wonderful light of springtime Tallinn.
I hope that this photo series offers the viewer the opportunity to take time out and discover everything wonderful about the everyday life around us that is actually there, whether it is raindrops on the glass wall of a bus stop, sparkling ice flowers, puddles reflecting like lenses, or veins flowing in the steam collected on a kitchen window.
Let us remember that we are all part of nature, nature is in us all and everywhere, both in the countryside and in the city.
