Echoes! Contemporary Illustration in Children’s Literature

Echoes! Contemporary Illustration in Children’s Literature

Echoes! Contemporary Illustration in Children’s Literature presents the diversity of visual storytelling in the Nordic and Baltic context.
The exhibition features both established and emerging artists whose works reflect the more contemporary style of children’s book illustration, diverse cultural nuances, and the power of imagination in contemporary Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Iceland.

Through the curator’s selection, you can discover how artists address identity, nature, traditions, and the experiences of the modern child. This international overview highlights both similarities and differences, reflecting the diversity and innovation of children’s literature in the Nordic and Baltic countries.
Whether playful, poetic, or powerful, each work on display is a testament to the important role that illustration plays in shaping children’s minds and boosting creativity.
