Andreas Kübar installation Tent

Short story

Andreas Kübar
Tent
2021

There is not much space, but when do we care? I think at midday when my head is full of other thoughts and people are going about their work. At night, it obviously gets a bit tight and sweaty, bony and sometimes messy, no denying that. We are in a burger where all flavours hit your mouth at once and your nose is smeared with sauce – delight! Just as life in Estonia, only on a miniature scale, like a ship in a bottle. If we want, we pack our things and unpack them somewhere else. Today we are staying here but tomorrow we go. We will not be allowed in anyway, or if we are, it will be with a big heart and a fake smile, otherwise, we will be forced out like tipsy homeless people are ushered out of a shopping centre. Luckily, we have a tent. We are not paupers or outcasts, we have merely chosen a difficult speciality. We are to blame and we are the ones who make it.

Andreas Kübar is a designer and prose writer whose work Tent was part of the ERKI fashion show in 2021 and published by the ;paranoia publishing house. Tent is two different things: it is free accommodation for a fashion designer with a university degree and a short story. They can be viewed separately but just as easily as one.

The installation is located in the Dome Gallery, near F-hoone, and is open to visitors 24/7.
