Comedy Estonia introduced Stand Up culture more than 10 years ago and has now become a full-fledged promoter and talent management agency across Estonia.

Comedy Estonia started more than 10 years ago when Louis Zezeran, with the help of a few acquaintances, decided to start organizing smaller events in both Tartu and Tallinn. From these smaller events, one of the most well-known stand-up groups in Estonia has grown.

We organize events of different sizes because it is stand up. Stand Up is an art form that is written and presented by one person. They may have influences and contributions from others, but the show itself is their own creation and we do not edit or prohibit them in any way. Stand Up only comes to life when it is presented in front of a real audience and in a space dedicated to comedy. Comedians prepare their material behind the scenes, but they can never be sure of it until it is tested on stage. The audience is the first and last judge of good comedy and we like it when you have your own opinion on it. You liked one performer but not another? Cool, maybe come to your favorite comedian’s solo show. You didn’t like someone? Follow their development. Good Stand Up comedians don’t just appear out of thin air, they need years of writing, performing and being on stage. Maybe you’ll see someone at Open Mic who’s just starting out and trying new angles, jokes, ideas show after show, and when you finally see how they’ve evolved and understand what they need to do, that’s when that moment comes..
